FIELD DAY 2022
N6IV and KB6USJ are planning a 1A Field Day event for Sat. June 25th near Bear Valley from 11am until 6pm, Wx permitting.
We will set up a 100 watt station with the club call, N6FRG, powered by a generator and use a simple multiband dipole antenna.
Our planned location will be at the end of hwy 207 as you enter the ski resort property.

Visitors and guest operators are welcome. We will take turns operating and logging as the number of participants dictate.
Restrooms are available at the Round Valley Sno-Park parking lot on hwy 207 as you approach the field day site. (38.485201,-120.019393). Please bring your own refreshments.
You need not be licensed to participate and non-hams are encouraged to visit. Bring yourself, spouse, kids, or friends as supervising control operators will be on hand.
Look for the American flag on a blue shade canopy.

MUSEUM SHIPS WEEKEND IS ON
FOR JUNE 3 – 5
Museum Ships Weekend is back for 2022 and we are planning to be aboard the USS Lucid again. We will be operating from 0000Z June 4th (5:00 PM June 3rd) until Sunday June 5th – shutting down at 1200 noon.
Sponsored by the Battleship New Jersey Amateur Radio Station NJ2BB, MSW is a great operating event especially for new hams with little HF radio experience. It’s a great chance to be “the hunted DX station” and improve your listening and operating skills. Radio operation will be from a variety of vintage and noteworthy vessels. This is not a competition – it is an event.
All stations are encouraged to QSL the USS Lucid and we get a lot of QSL request that we typically answer during the July club meeting. There will be certificates awarded this year!
Some ships also may be found on 75 meters (3.880 – 3.885 MHz) and on 40 meters (7.290 MHz) using AM, some using the vessel’s original restored equipment. Information Courtesy of W6SF

The scenic bicycle ride took place this passed weekend with 120 cyclists on the routes. Most of the riders setting a pace that sure was faster than a Frog, and brought back this iconic event after years of absence due to the pandemic.
Will the town of Murphys forget Mr. Frog Never, Never. The ride will be back next year, be sure to sign up!
