It was the deepest sadness that an announcement was made during the Monday night Net that Ken Ae6la wife Lynn passed away on Sunday July 27th. They had been married for 60 years, the history of both of them participating in CARS goes back decades. Please keep your thoughts and prayers on this lovely couple.

This last weekend, July 12th, was the 44th running of the Markleeville deathe ride, a 105 mile endurance bike ride over the California Alps.
C.A.R.S along with the Tahoe ARA and Nevada ham club, S.I.E.R.A. provided radio communications for this day long event.
CARS members included Mark n6iv, Dave n6dao, Walt k6wgy, Pascal k6pwg,Mark n6arp, Eric km6ele, Ken ae6la, Tony km6qfd, Helen km6ele, and Mike wa6zty who spear headed our involvement.
Just another example of ham radio to the rescue when land lines and cell phones just won’t work
