Pacificon 2014 was quite the event. W100AW/6 put on a real show! The
ARRL 100 Anniversary was very well celebrated with fun, frolic and lots
of commemorative merchandise. There are perks on multiple renewals and
Life memberships. Technical advisers from HQ, Educational advice and
Pres. Kay Craigie were present to personally answer questions regarding
the future of ARRL. We were very lucky to have had the Pacific Division
as a “Regional Convention” for the 100th Anniversary of ARRL.
Forums were plentiful and very interesting. I had many comments
regarding the PIO instruction from the SCV Section PIO. Sue Ellen is
very knowledgeable and accessible. Other forums and talks ranged from
the extremely technical to the easy and practical.
The were many venders with people ready to answer questions and offer
assistance. The swap meet was great as usual offering antiques to the
state of the art computer and radio components.
We were privileged to have the Kern County Central Valley amateur Radio
Club interviewed on TV. Very nice publicity for Ham radio.
Remember to support HR4969 and get your letter to ARRL and your
Congressional Representative. Go to the link on the ARRL website
