SAN JOAQUIN VALLEY SECTION Report for the month of January 2016

SM Dan Pruitt, AE6SX- ASMs K6YK and N2NS, ACC W6DPD, SEC KF6FIR, OOC N1VM,
STM K6RAU, PIC KJ6OUI, TC W6TE.
Hello all;

Pacificon! Hope to see you all there. It has been a busy time

First the National Tribal Emergency Management Conference was held in
Lemoore and we were invited to exhibit Amateur Radio. A technician
class was held and a special event station was set up, operating as N8V
(native) mostly on 20 meters from a 70 foot tower trailer, for 5 days.

Next we had the Section Hamfest “Rally in the Valley”. Highlights
were a very well received presentation on MESH Networks from AREDN. We
had other presentations on APRS, Winlink and the phase IV Satellite
project. There were Lots of prizes and a swapmeet. I hope you had the
opportunity to attend.

There were many public service events throughout the valley. Amateur
Radio participated in all aspects of fire prevention and assistance.
Many aspects of Amateur Radio Public Service were performed by multiple
clubs. Keep up the good work.

To help out we have a new Public Information Coordinator, Greg Waters,
KJ6OUI. He has been very effective as a Public Information Officer for
some time. Please work with him and call on him for all PR needs.

Remember to support “The Amateur Radio Parity Act”. Go to the link
on the ARRL website http://www.arrl.org/amateur-radio-parity-act. We
have to continue the support for this legislation. The Senate bill
still has to be passed.

Dan Pruitt, AE6SX
