SAN JOAQUIN VALLEY SECTION Report for the month of July 2016

SM Dan Pruitt, AE6SX- ASMs K6YK and N2NS, ACC W6DPD, SEC KF6FIR, OOC N1VM, STM
K6RAU, PIC vacant, TC W6TE.
Hot!
We are definitely in summer. Check out the September QST. Good
information on Public Service and an article from Greg, KJ6OUI about
getting new Technicians from the 4 wheel drive Clubs. Very
inspirational.

Field Day turned out to be the real thing for the Lake Isabella
residents. Community service was appreciated and welcomed by the
residents affected by the Erskine Fire. Then here in Fresno County, a
fire near Prather and 2 more near Coalinga. There were more and they
won't be the last so be thinking how you can help, but do not self
deploy. Align yourself with a known organization (ARES, RACES, CERT,
SATERN or State OES ACS) and follow their lead.

If you want a glimpse, attend the Rally in the Valley on 24 September
at the Red Shield Salvation Army Corps for presentations, exhibits and
hands on Public Service. Don't forget the swap meet also!

Lots of Contests going on next month. Great opportunities to play
radio. Pacificon is looking good this year also so get your
reservations in.

Remember to support “The Amateur Radio Parity Act”. Go to the link
on the ARRL website http://www.arrl.org/amateur-radio-parity-act. We
have to continue the support for this legislation. It was passed out
of committee by a unanimous vote in July and will be considered by the
full House in September.
