SAN JOAQUIN VALLEY SECTION Report for the month of Dec 2015

SM Dan Pruitt, AE6SX- ASMs K6YK and N2NS, ACC W6DPD, SEC KF6FIR, OOC N1VM, STM K6RAU, PIC vacant, TC W6TE.

Hello All;

One more year gone and posted to the History books!  I’m already late

with my inept computer competition holding me back.  I do want to say

that there is a bright new year ahead.  We have a long “To Do

List”.  AMSAT is trying to establish a Geosynchronous Satellite with

in the year.  Dave, W6TE will be working through the West Coast to

explain the system that needs to be created from the ground stations to

the “Bird” itself.  Be on the look-out for Dave speaking near you,

or contact him directly or you may invite him to your Club”!

We have contests, of course and The National Parks on the Air.  There

are many other opportunities to operate.  Stay informed and educate

your relatives and neighbors.  Then bring them to the club meetings and

work with them so they realize their potential in the hobby.

We need to keep apprised of the Amateur Radio Parity Act.  Tell

everyone you know and give them the link to get their letters in.  The

link is: www.arrl.org/amateur-radio-parity-act

Now the bad stuff.  The weather is here, rain and we should be grateful

but we need to be mindful of all the water coming at once.  Are you

ready to help if needed?  Take the on line EC-001 Emergency

Communications course.  Add the FEMA IC 100, 200, 700, and 802 on line

study courses that are offered for free.  Then work in your county ARES

contingent to practice doing Public Service Events.  Regularly test your

skills by contacting your neighbors in adjacent Counties.  Work with

your PIOs or equivalent in collecting and dispensing information

properly.  Be an effective communicator.

73;

Dan Pruitt, AE6SX
